このゲームは無料のアップデートによる新規コンテンツの追加が稀にあるが、それとは別に有料DLCでの大型コンテンツ追加アップデートが存在する。

具体的には
-新規サバイバーの追加
-新規アイテム・装備の追加
-祭壇や特殊な箱などのインタラクティブルオブジェクトの追加
-エネミーの追加
-ボスの追加
-ステージの追加
-ステージのバリエーション(バージョン違い)の追加
-クリア方法(ラスボスステージ)の追加
-アーティファクトの追加
-サバイバースキンの追加
-新規チャレンジの追加

などなど、様々な要素やサバイバーの追加によって導入するだけでゲームプレイに大きな幅を持たせてくれる。
マルチプレイの場合はホストがDLCを所持していれば全員が追加コンテンツ込みのプレイをすることができる。
ただし、追加サバイバーとスキンは購入者限定なので注意。
